Online Scavenger Hunt for Success The Basics (each question worth 5 point) 20 pts total 1. From the first section in the book what are 5 environmental concerns you will learn about in this class? a. Health. And Hunger b. Climate Change c. Biodiversity Loss d. Water Quality/Quantity e. Pollution 2. Every field is impacted by the environment, be it being the source or a product, source of a service, a concern to meet an environmental regulation…. How do you feel learning about the environment will impact your future career? I am currently studying Elementary Education and Special Education but in the future, I plan is to teach around the world. By doing this I will be constantly living and experiencing different countries and environments. Therefore I think that it is important to be educated in the ways that I can have a good impact on each environment while traveling throughout different places. Also as a future educator I think being aware of the issues the environment faces is the type of knowledge we should be share and expressing from a young age so they are more aware in the future. 3. Everything is made from chemicals. In blogs or news articles, you might hear about chemicals being a concern, but this is too vague. For example you can say water is a problem because it is a chemical, but this is still not saying why. Find an example of a chemical you want to learn about. a. What is this chemical made from? Radon is a natural decay composed of uranium and radium, which can be found in rocks and soils b. How can it be helpful? At low levels, like in most American homes, it can reduce chances of lung cancer by 60% c. What it is likely to pollute (air, water, or land)? Radon is a colorless and odorless gas therefore it is a air pollutant d. How can the problem be lessened? Test Radon levels and be sure to maintain radon reduction systems
