CKE1 is a conventional knowledge exam designed to assess the knowledge required to perform at the CHRP level which consists of 150 multiple choice questions. CKE2 is a conventional knowledge exam designed to assess the knowledge required to perform at CHRL level which consists of 250 multiple choice questions. Employment Law exams are for both CHRP and CHRL levels. It’s an application- based knowledge exam for workplace and employment law which consists of approximately 100 multiple choice questions that will access basic knowledge of employment and workplace law in Ontario. DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CKE1, CKE2 and Employment Law exams: CKE1 – Exam relates to CHRP column in the HR Professional Competency Framework. CKE2 – Exam relates to CHRL column in the HR Professional Competency Framework. Employment Law Exam – Exam at both CHRP and CHRL level which assess basic knowledge of employment and workplace law in Ontario.



Job Ready Program assists registrants with the transition into the work place including training around professionalism and ethics.



The recertification log describes the various categories and types of activities that meet the CPD (Continuing Professional Development Requirement) requirement. CPD is referred to as Recertification, it’s an essential component of HRPA’s designation framework. After every 3 years all CHRE, CHRP and CHRL members of HRPA need to recertify.



3 years of work experience in HR at a professional level is required prior to obtaining your CHRL designation.
