Canterbury Tales Poetry Assignment 1. You will write all your information and upload into Canvas. This was the Monday, January 11 th personal information assignment. 2. Everyone will draw a name BUT YOU MUST keep it a secret. Do NOT tell anyone. If you do or I find out you told someone, you can expect a zero immediately – no exception! 3. Using Chaucer's "Prologue" as a model (p. 101 of literature book) each person will write a poem about the person whose name was drawn. 4. The poem will include: physical characteristics of your person type of transportation they use his/her hobbies habits of the subject interests things you might already know about the person where they work from past or current experience 5. The minimum number of lines your poem must contain is between 16. 6. This poem will also be written in a rhymed couplet or as it is written in Chaucer’s Prologue in your literature book – p. 101 7. We will read these poems aloud in class without naming your subject. 8. Be aware I want to review these poems prior to them being given in class in the event it has to be revised. 9. Make this poem as memorable as possible so that the subject your writing about can include this in their memory album if they so choose. 10. Note: If you plan on being absent the day of the project or you do not HAVE your poem when you walk into class – you can expect a 50-point deduction immediately. I will NOT tolerate points deducted on a simple project such as this.
