Etymology of the Church
The word “church” stems form the work “Ekklesia” which is a Greek noun meaning ‘an assembly of’. It has many adaptations and root as it has been passed down from people to people. Ekklesia also means an assembly of people called by God, putting emphasis on the word assembly as it strongly means of gathering. However, deviating from the usual meaning of crowd, Church also means a community of faithful people, which gives the idea of mysticality referencing people. In general awareness, Church is confined in an adjective sense but as time progresses, the word Church has been given a deep meaning as in the line of ‘belonging’ but not entirely opposing from the common understanding as mentioned. Church although a place or gathering, could also mean the Lord as it is his believed home....
