Description

CIS 3250 Systems Analysis and Design Assignment 2 Use Case Diagram and Data Flow Diagram

In this assignment, you will prepare data flow diagrams to document the flow of data through a system’s processes for the proposed information system in your Assignment 1. Based on the information necessary for your diagrams, you are now ready to construct use case diagram and logical DFD, not physical DFD. Using Microsoft Visio or PowerPoint, first construct a use case diagram and context data flow diagram (DFD) for CRM and SCM respectively. You must have all four types of relations such as communicate, include, extend, and generalize in the use case diagrams. Secondly, draw level 0 DFDs of CRM and SCM to show the major processes of the system described in your proposal (i.e., 2 sets of use case, context DFD, and level 0 DFD for each system). If you proposed an extra information system in your assignment 1 (e.g., HRM, AIS), you may include its use case diagram, and context DFD, level 0 DFD. Each level 0 DFD should contain at least 5 processes, which specify the high-level of processes. Be sure to follow the naming convention of processes, data flows, external entities, and data stores. Please submit the hard copy of your work with the cover page including project name, team name, and team member names AND 3 meeting notes. The due date of this assignment is on syllabus. Grading guidelines:  On time completion  Professionalism (overall neatness, correct language and spelling, cover page, etc.)  A Use Case Diagram  Include all actors and use cases  Include all the four types of relations (i.e., communicate, include, extend, generalize)  Present core ideas of your proposed system  Include the names of actors, use cases, and connecting lines in the diagram  A Context Data Flow Diagram  Include all important input / output data flows to (or from) the system  Correct naming of data flows, external agents, and a process  Present core ideas of your proposed system  Identify major external entities  A Level 0 Data Flow Diagram  Identify major processes (at least 5) and reasonableness of each process  Identify major data stores  Identify all input/output data flows to (or from) each process  Match to the context DFD diagram  No unconnected, isolated entities or processes in the diagram  Consistency and clear relationship among the three diagrams...
