Elle is an international magazine which contains news and information about fashion, beauty, health and entertainment. It is published in 29 versions in over 60 countries around the world. Originally founded more than 70 years ago, Elle pleases its readers with coverage of the latest trends, colorful photographs of clothing, accessories and jewelries that are defining at the moment. Elle’s editorial team tries to make their content as aspirational and accessible as they can. Elle Magazine’s target audience comprises women between 20 and 35 years old, primarily single or recently married. These are often women who already have a career or are developing professionally, are university and college educated, live in urban area and have a high income. Elle Magazine provides a lot of free regular content including “Fashion”, which covers the looks readers will want in their wardrobes, “Style”, the hottest looks that are on the peek, “Beauty” and the ways we can define our own look, “Celebrities” and artists and the up-andcoming women should watch. Moreover, they also include updates on Covid-19 pandemic situation in Canada, which is very educational, ethical and, as a reader, I feel appreciated and cared about. Every month we get horoscope with positive tips and advices for those who like astrology and learn about their personal signs. Each day we get approximately 5-6 stories on the topics mentioned above (as on September 28th, 2020). There are also a lot of exclusive content that people can get after they subscribe. The price for 1-year subscription is $19.99 +tax. Sometimes, Elle has promotions and deals, like 2 years for the price of 1 offer, or limited free edition and free trials. Currently, the magazine publishes 10 times annually. As for the content, it focuses on particular topics, such as “Women in Television”, “Women in Tech”, “Sexy and Body”, “Spring Fashion”, “Money and Power” and more regular content that reader won’t want to miss. Elle also writes articles concerning relationships, friendships, family, personal growth and politics. And we can read the interviews with celebrities to know more about their lives and career path, not only the news. As traditional newspapers and magazines were supposed to die in the world of free digital content, many are trying to create a special content and paywalls for people to be ready to pay for it. Elle is not an exception; they make use of the metered paywalls. I think it is a great marketing strategy, because people can view a specific number of articles before requiring a paid subscription....
