Part 2

4. Provide short-term bicycle storage for at least 2.5% of all peak visitors, but no fewer than four storage spaces per building. Provide long-term bicycle storage for at least 5% of all regular building occupants, but no fewer than four storage spaces per building in addition to the short-term bicycle storage spaces. Provide at least one on-site shower with changing facility for the first 100 regular building occupants and one additional shower for every 150 regular building occupants thereafter At a 3,000 peak, 2.5% is required, and with 100 regular occupants, 5% is required. (3000*.025)+(100*.05)=80.0 80 parking spots are required, and only one shower facility is required as there is only 100 regular occupants.

Part 3

As per pg. 36 of v4BDC: Provide outdoor space greater than or equal to 30% of the total site area (including building footprint). A minimum of 25% of that outdoor space must be vegetated (turf grass does not count as vegetation) or have overhead vegetated canopy . My interpretation: Of the total space, 30% must be outdoor, and of that 30%, 25% must be vegetated As per part 3 info: Total site area is 86,000sqft which includes the building footprint. 7,000sqft are vegetated in accordance. Open space : ([total site] - [building footprint]) / (total site) (86000-14500)/86000=0.831 ●

83.1% of the total site is considered open space, far above the required 30%

Vegetation : (Existing vegetated) / ([total site] - [building footprint]) if Vegetation < Required, then figure : X / ([total site] - [building footprint])=0.30, solve X, then to get total additional sqft subtract existing vegetation from X. 7000/(86000-14500)=0.0979 X/(86000-14500)=0.30, X=21450 21450-7000=14450 ●

9.79% of the total open space is considered vegetated, thus the required additional sqft is 14450

Sorry about the formatting not being added to the PDF file on D2L, I couldn’t figure out how to modify the PDF file so I made a separate file just to get the assignment done on time. And another apology for the two emails, the site for finding the circle around the site was down for a couple hours but came back up....
