Terminology Integrated

1st

Definition Year Courses

48UOC of integrated 1st year courses which students must complete under this degree. Maximum level one limit for the Commerce component is 60UOC.

Commerce Major

Major Requirements: 48 UOC in an approved disciplinary stream containing at least 18 UOC at level 3. Note that the 48 UOC includes one course from the Integrated First Year. This means that students will complete 42 UOC in specified disciplinary courses outside the core.

UNSW Business School Elective

6UOC in UNSW Business School courses to ensure a student completes a minimum of 96UOC of Business courses within the Bachelor of Commerce. The exact number of courses to complete will depend on the major chosen. GEN courses cannot be counted as Business School electives.

MyBcom

Students need to complete three non-credit bearing myBCom professional development elements including COMM0999 myBCom Blueprin, COMM1999 myBCom First Year Portfolio and COMM3999 myBCom Graduation Portfolio.

WIL Course

Students must complete a 6 UOC Work Integrated Learning (WIL) course within their program. This course can count as a free elective or where applicable, can count as a Commerce major elective or General Education course.

Final Year Synthesis

Students must complete either a 6 UOC Synthesis of Learning Course, or a 0 UOC Synthesis Experience. Students who complete a Synthesis course that is also a Work Integrated Learning course within a major, will meet a major elective, WIL and Synthesis requirement.
