Description

I've decided to give my speech of introduction for Malala Yousafzai who I have chosen to be the commencement speaker. I have chosen Malala Yousafzai because she is an immensely inspirational public figure for many people, young and old. Born in Pakistan, Malala first appeared in the public eye after standing up and publicly advocating for women's education and rights in 2012. Unfortunately, this made her a target and she was shot on the left side of her head. Miraculously, after many surgeries and extensive rehabilitation, she survived and has since gone on to continue fighting so that every young girl can acquire schooling and proper education. These experiences have given her a lifetime full of wisdom and insight, which I believe would make her a wonderful commencement speaker, especially for an audience of college students, as many of her accomplishments have revolved around education. This is a great choice for a commencement speaker because most people know Malala Yousafzai as a young, powerful activist. Although some of her viewpoints can be considered political and may be controversial to some, her effort to stand up for women's education in Pakistan is generally supported by all audiences. Really good choice! I know that her life has also been super empowering to me and many people. I think that her storytelling would be captivating. She also values education so much which would also make her great for commencement. This is an excellent choice. She is so inspiring and will be sure to capture the attention of the audience. I'm sure many people will be interested to hear her speech. T his would be an amazing choice as many people know her name and understand what she is fighting for. I would also agree that since a big part of her beliefs include education she could really hone in on its importance to the next generation. I think this is a great choice. I only know the basics about Malala Yousafzai's beliefs and what she stands for, so to hear a little more about the work she exerts in terms of her advocacy for the education of women in Pakistan would be very interesting. I also think a lot of people would sort of be where I am in terms of knowledge about her: only knowing the basics, but would love to hear more. I absolutely love Malala. Her story is incredible and I think that her enthusiasm for women's rights specifically regarding education is admirable. Considering the danger that she went through to share her opinion and story, her passion for the subject brings inspiration to many women specifically around the world. I have chosen Brené Brown to be a commencement speaker. I have chosen Brené Brown because recently she has resonated a lot with my family and a majority of society. Brené Brown has a PhD in social work which has allowed her to be a professor, author, podcast host, and in general a public speaker.

She is currently a professor at the University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work, and she enjoys to delve into research. She is credible as she has given TED talks, written books, released many podcasts, and even has a special on Netflix. In addition, one of her books was actually a #1 New York Times bestselling book. She is known for giving great advice that many follow. She would be perfect as a commencement speaker because she likes to address topics that are important in the real world, especially as people graduate. She likes to comment on courage, vulnerability, leadership, etc. People tend to listen to her more than others because of her storytelling. She is able to communicate data and ideas in a captivating manner thus being a successful speaker. Although I have never heard of Brene Brown, she sounds inspirational and like she would be a great commencement speaker. I would be interested in hearing more about her background and accomplishments. I have not heard of her but she sounds like she has a very inspiring story to share! II am definitely interested to hear more about her life and accomplishments. Cool choice! I, too, have never heard of Brené Brown however I do believe that based off of what you stated she is a qualified interesting speaker. I am really interested to learn more about her. Maybe I will even check out her Netflix special. Great choice! I have never heard of Brené Brown but she sounds like a great speaker, especially for a group of college graduates. It seems like she would come across well, and connect to the graduates. I also think it is great that she is credible, even if people do not know exactly who she is, you can explain her credibility in your introduction speech....
