PART B

Investigate what would be the network security requirements in order to ensure the security of the electronic personal data submitted to an organisation via the Internet. Your answer must be specific and must provide examples to demonstrate your understanding.

To maintain network security needs to meet the requirements to protect the confidentiality, the integrity and the availability. It is essential that the personal data should be protected from misuse by employee such as spam/phishing emails, and from unauthorized users and/or their devices such as cyber attacks. An organization needs to ensure that it protects the confidentially, the integrity and the availability; •

To configure Network Access Control which restricts access to only authorized user and/ or devices.



To install security software such as anti-virus, anti-malware and anti-ransomware to protect from misuse by employee.



To set up Firewall which protects access from unauthorised user and/or devices, and from cyber attacks.



To enable the network encryption such as WEP, WPA and also to enable MAC address filtering together.



To set up VPN to ensure appropriate access and security when the employees need to access on their organization network remotely.

It is also necessary for an organization to provide ongoing network security training to it’s employee. It makes them aware of network security risk and threats which includes email scams, Malware, password security, website access, use of social media and so on.

The employer has asked you to clarify who owns the copyright of the following works so as to contribute to the updating of the copyright policy. Dear Mr Boss I am writing to you regarding the copyright of advertisement posters which I have worked on. You will own the intellectual property of the graphics and photographs which designed on the advertisement posters according to Copyright Act 1968, Section 35(6). It states an employer will own the intellectual property created by its employees in the course of their employment. Concerning the company logo, this copyright is owned by the external artist who designed, unless she or he has assigned copyright to you. Assignment will only be legally effective if it is in writing and signed by him or her. Therefore, the company logo is not allowed to change or use other than on advertisement posters without her or his permission. (Copyright Act 1968) Sincerely yours,
