At what point do we conduct the primary survey? Upon arriving at scene, upon deterioration, if lost. What are the components of the primary survey and what do we do in each of those components? DRABC - Check for danger (see,hear,smell,sense), Response (AVPU, COWS), Airway, Breathing, Circulation What is the purpose of the primary survey? To identify any immediately life threatening complications and potential dangers to themselves and bystanders. List items of PPE. Mask, Gown, Goggles, Gloves etc. Why is vehicle placement important? Maintain paramedic & scene safety, allow for rapid egress. What are some considerations for vehicle placement?
