Gain attention: Does anybody here work at a job that involves dealing with customers on a daily basis?

Motivate: Whether you already work somewhere like this or are aspiring to, I will teach you the ways of being good at a job that consists of customer service.

Thesis: There are many ways to go above and beyond a customer service based job.

Preview: I will teach you about how to treat customers, how to look good for your managers, and how to become a role model for your fellow employees.
Body I.
How to treat a customer A. Here is what you want to do regularly. 1. You want to make sure to greet the customer with enthusiasm. 2. Always offer to assist a customer. B. Here are ways to go above and beyond. 1. Engage in genuine conversation with the customer, and maybe even their kids. 2. Offer to help in other ways that aren’t regular.
II.
How to look good for your managers A. Here is what you want to do regularly. 1. You want to be on their good side. Unfortunately, in jobs comes favoritism so this is something that will greatly help you. 2. Do your job correctly! There isn’t anything that makes a manager happier when the business is running buttery smooth.
B. Here are ways to go above and beyond. 1. Ask your manager(s) if there is anything else you could help out with when you are done with a task. 2. Try and do the best you can in tasks that will help improve your evaluation score. III.
How to become a role model for your fellow employees A. Here is what you want to do regularly. 1. Same with managers, it is best to be on their good side. You don’t have to be best friends, but set yourself up to be someone where you are a person they can go to for help or just for conversation. 2. Greet them when you see them. B. Here are ways to go above and beyond. 1. Have conversations with your co-workers. If you are seen as somebody respectable, then they look up to you. 2. Offer to help them out any way you can. Whether it is training them in your field, offering to take their shift, or dealing with something for them.
