1. What do you want to write about? Write down your thesis statement, research idea, or a description of your topic:

2. Search term brainstorm: make a list of at least 5 words or concepts related to your topic. Consider the different aspects of your topic that you are interested in learning more about. Think about context- synonyms, people, places, time periods, etc.
