Describe an example of when you were extrinsically motivated by something. What was your goal and what motivated you? Extrinsic motivation emerges of external factors. An example of when I was extrinsically motivated was when working at my aunt’s pharmacy. My goal was acquiring more skill sets and I was motivated by making money for myself and becoming more financially independent.

Describe an example of when you were intrinsically motivated by something. What was your goal and what motivated you? Intrinsic motivation emerges of internal factors. An example of when I was intrinsically motivate was in high school. I did track athletics and my goal was to beat current records and also improve on current times. I was motivated by the fact that I love running and that I’m competitive in that manor.

Based on your examples, explain the difference between intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation. Was one more effective? Be sure to reflect on how each type of motivation made you feel. Intrinsic motivation is a result of internal desires and factors. Extrinsic is external factors. I personally think that intrinsic motivation is more effective because I did manage to accomplish my goal.

Finally, based on what you have learned about motivation, describe what motivates you to learn. Are you an intrinsically motivated learner or an extrinsically motivated learner? Why? I’m motivated to learn and study because of what I want to become after I’m done studying. I’m passionate about my goals in life. I’m both intrinsically and extrinsically motivated learner. I do have goal of receiving good grades and maintaining good grade but I’m also motivated to reach my personals goals.
