Description

Communication is the key to success when you use it effectively. For someone to be able to understand to communicate effectively you need to break the communication process into eight essentials components and these are Source, Message, Channel, Receiver, Feedback, Environment, Context, and Interference. Let me explain then one by one. Source: This is the person who gives out the message. The person will be able to give the message to the audience and will use the voice tone, body language and even the clothes, this will determine how the person wants the message to reach the audience. Message: This is what need to be said by the source to the audience. Use of words to deliver the message the person must look into it and chose the right words because not every word has to be used in speech if it is the speech of convincing the audience then you have to choose words of convincing them. The message if it is the report you must use the format which will make the one reading it understand by using good grammar and organization. Channel: This how the message will be delivered from the source to the audience (receiver). For someone to get the message voice is needed to especially for giving out speech so here we find face to face conversation, Tv, radio etc. So, this channel we call it spoken channel. We have written channel just like letters, reports, e-mails, newspaper, magazines, social medias etc. Receiver: This is the person who receive the message from the source and interpret it on his way. The source once gives out the message the receiver will receive it in many ways for the source might think the receiver will receive in the way he/she knows but the receiver receives it on his own way. Feedback: This is the message send back to the source after a receiver interpret the message was given out. This is the way a receiver gets more clarity by giving back the feedback of the speech or report by asking to understand more or by debating with the source. Environment: This is the physical, atmosphere, and psychological place where the message will be sent and received. The source must make sure the place where the speech will be held is well arranged and this depend on the message needed to be delivered to the audience. Also dress code is on of the thing will affect the environment psychologically, the source must look on this too. Context: This is what will be expected from the source and receiver of the message given out. So here we see the source expect something from the receiver after giving out the speech and the receiver expect to get something out of that speech. This is the very important essential in communication especially in business, people meet to discuss and expect to get out with something that will bring good impact to their business. Interference: This can be the noises comes from any side whether the source or the receiver which interfere the message being given out or message received. When giving out the message

make sure no interactions in your message so that the receiver can receive it in a very quietly manner. The one who receive also must receive in attentively manner with no interactions.

What would happen if one of the above elements was taken out of the communication process? If one of these essentials was to be taken out the communication won’t be good. If we take out the feedback essential the communication will be not good because feedback is very important to communication because this illustrate if the message was well clear and understandable. It also makes the source feel the message was successful delivered and for the receiver will be much comfortable to provide feedback and get more clarity to the questions which generated while the speech was given.
