An invigilated exam means your exam will be supervised online by an approved Monash person. Your exam is invigilated as this is required by the Accounting professional bodies to ensure there is a level of academic integrity. Invigilation was developed in collaboration with student representatives to ensure it considers their concerns regarding security and privacy. Refer to https://www.monash.edu/exams/electronic-exams/supervision What do I need for my invigilated (supervised) eExam? The following link provides information about what you will need for a supervised eExam https://www.monash.edu/exams/electronic-exams/supervision What happens if I encounter a technical issue during my eExam? 3

It is recommended you review the troubleshooting webpage prior to your exam, so you are prepared on what to do should you encounter any difficulties: https://www.monash.edu/exams/electronic-exams/troubleshooting What if I become unwell during my eExam? By starting your eExam, you are confirming that you are fit to do the exam. If you suddenly become unwell during your exam, and if your exam is a supervised eExam, tell your supervisor straight away – they will tell you what you need to do. If it is an unsupervised exam, we recommend you contact me, as the CE, or apply for special consideration. We recommend you try to finish your exam if you are able to because, in most circumstances once you have seen and/or attempted exam questions, you will not be eligible for a deferred assessment. Students enrolled at an Australian campus (including those who will be sitting the exam from an overseas location) must use the online system to apply for special consideration. Refer to the following link for details of how to apply. https://www.monash.edu/students/admin/exams/changes/special-consideration Applications require supporting evidence. Please note that special consideration may be granted but is not guaranteed. Take careful note of the specific grounds upon which special consideration may be granted. There are many different circumstances, which may give rise to a special consideration application. Such as: ● short-term serious medical condition. This includes hospital admission, serious injury, severe asthma, and severe anxiety or depression. ● loss or bereavement (for example, death of a close family member). ● family relationship breakdown. ● hardship or trauma. This may include: victims of crime, sudden loss of income or employment, or severe disruption to domestic arrangements. ● obligations to military, jury or emergency services (such as the Country Fire Authority). ● for students registered with the Elite Student Performer Scheme for student-athletes, artists, performers participating in a key event and for students competing in key academic events and programs representing the University. ● for student carers, where acute illness or other exceptional cause affects the person for whom they care and impacts the student’s ability to prepare for or perform the assessment. I bring to your attention that special consideration will not be granted for: ● Managing workload from other units of study; ● Managing work commitments; ● Managing activities arising from voluntary representation as a member of a club, society or any other organisation; ● Misreading the exam timetable; or ● Information and communications technology-related problems, except where they could not have been prevented, avoided or the effects minimised by reasonable diligence by students. 4
