Drama Short Story It was a casual Saturday afternoon. 2:30 was the time I’d just be finishing up lunch and heading out to play basketball at the nearest school court which is just up the street. As I was walking about half of the way there I saw a crowd of people all with worried and panicked faces, squirming my way to the middle I saw a kid in his late teens about 18 or 19. Laying in a pool of blood that had appeared to be stabbed in the upper thigh. Luckily, I had took a cpr course that had taught me the required skills to treat this situation. As I calmly ripped his jeans from the area and rolled his shirt up slightly so there was nothing touching or bothering the area that had been stabbed I applied my extra t shirt I had brought in my bag and tied it around his leg applying a lot of pressure. I tried to calm the injured victim, but he was in so much shock there was no use.That was the longest 10 minutes of my life waiting for the ambulance to arrive. Finally, the paramedics had finally showed up rushing out of the vehicle attempting to pick up the guy and put him onto the stretcher. Once they had got the guy onto the stretcher they immediately put him into the back of the ambulance. Right before they rushed him off a couple of people had stopped to speak to me they told me that I had stopped so much possible bleeding that I may have just saved a man's life. All of this was extremely overwhelming .Moments later when the police appear they had brought me to the station and had told me that I am a hero to someone and had proudly rewarded me with a medal of bravery, which unfortunately I couldn't bring today because it's sitting in a glass case parched up in my room on the wall. I take too much pride in it to risk bringing it to school....
