Family first, God second and job last. This are the words of a very wise women Mary Kay Ash founder of the Mary Kay company were “One woman can”. I believe so that family is more important than anything, especially kids, they grow up so fast that time to enjoy them is so important and very limited at the same time.

My Mom is my best person to admire, she got divorce when me and my 3 siblings were young and she manage to succeed and become a wonderful mother with a great career. She was going to college after the divorce because she realized that she need to grow professionally to be able to provide for her kids and she did indeed, she is a very successful accountant and has been working for more than fifteen years for the same company, I want to be like her as a mother that way my daughter feels proud of her mom the same way I feel proud of mine. She has been very supportive helping me with my daughter now that in going to college. Another person I admire very much is Kara Kalkstein is one of my most talented supervisors I ever had, I admire her deeply. She is Manager right now but she started as a Chemist assistant, shortly after she was promoted as Chemist, subsequently as a Senior Chemist in QC Analytical department, and she kept going up and up as team lead, supervisor and finally as manager of the QCA department all this in a period of 3-year frame. She was the one that hired me as QC Management assistant at the QCA department, I remember that that when she told me I see a lot of potential in you and I will give you the job even when I know there is others with better qualifications than you, and don’t take it in a bad way is a constructive critique and I know you’ll do great cause I see the eager in your eyes to learn and there is nothing better than a person with hunger to learn and be better every day. She Come around once in a wild and look at me in the eye after I have been promoted 2 times and tell me I still see hunger in your eyes keep it that way

and you will have a successful career and a brilliant future, those words along with my mother’s example keep me strong and decided to work hard for a better future.

I made a mistake when I selected my career the first time, maybe because I consider myself a feminist and thought that I can convince the male dominating workforce that women are equal in this type of job but the pressure they put on me overpass me, but now I know I have chosen the right career and mainly because I had the opportunity to work in the field as a Technician before deciding to go for Microbiology major. I am very selective with people, especially with those that will be around my family. I have a daughter and I’m very protective with her and I think that’s the main reason of why I don’t like new people coming around, it’s not that I think others are not good people enough to be friends with its just the little amount of time I have left I rather spend it with my family. I have the fortune of having as a husband a very supportive and caring man who is at the same time as me getting a major on Business Management.

The biggest challenge in front of me is time due I work full time job, am a mother, a wife, student, a professional and all this take over my free time along with my daughter extracurricular activities. What do you imagine will get in the way of your dream? I don’t even know how it would be fulfilling my dream of a great career at this point, not because I don’t think it won’t happen is just that I know there is still a long way to walk before I get to that moment but I certainly know I will feel proud of my accomplishments. It has been a long year and there’s few more to go through but I’m confident that it will be worth the effort. I keep trying I believe there is no barrier for me, I have learned so much especially in my previous career. People will try to discourage you not because you don’t know how to do the job but mainly because they are afraid to see that you know how to do the job.

I think a higher education will always be a benefit in anyone’s life cause a great future depends on an education. Having a professional career will be the best investment in life, not only giving you the possibility of a better job but also a higher possibility of better income, will you need to provide for a family.
