Education Reflection Essay: Multiple Intelligence Test...

Description

Education Reflection Essay All human beings learn in different ways and have different educational strengths. The multiple intelligence test allows individuals to discover their strengths in adult literacy and education. After taking the multiple intelligence test, I discovered my top three strengths out of eight different areas of intelligence. These three strengths are nature (naturalist), language (linguistic), and social (interpersonal). The other areas of intelligence measured by the test include body movement (kinesthetic), musical, self (intrapersonal), spatial, and logic/math. The fact that the test scores me highly in nature, language and social is not surprising to me. My first area of intelligence is nature. I have always enjoyed spending time outside and learning about plants, animals, and the weather. In addition, I have always been sensitive to my surroundings and environment. Some of the happiest moments of my life were when I lived in Odenton, Maryland. From the ages of 11-15, I lived in what felt like a green alien planet. I loved the changing seasons, the nature trails, and teaching the children in the neighborhood about the adorable woodland creatures and bizarre insects that surrounded us. My second area of intelligence is language and this is also not surprising to me. As a child, I loved reading my mother’s horror books and writing stories about my life. In school, my favorite subject was always English. As a college student, I enjoy in-person classes opposed to online classes because I love to hear lectures. My final area of intelligence is social. This makes perfect sense as a communication major. Even though I am a shy person, I really enjoy learning about communication and working in small groups. Although I am not surprised by the test results the information provided is still very helpful. As a student, I can lean into my strengths and work on my weaknesses. I believe I have already done this by choosing communication as my major. In addition, I will soon be entering

the brutal work market. I need to be aware of my strengths so that I can sell myself to potential employees. A crucial aspect of doing this is knowing where my intelligence lies and what I excel at. Overall, the multiple intelligence test offers valuable information and new insights into how I think....
