One of the most important steps in creating a better future is to educate today’s youth. Educators have the task of giving a valuable education to the newer generation, which would benefit many of these youth in the future. There are a number of countries that prosper due to the high level of education of the overall population. If all countries around the world are able to educate its population, international communication will become unchallenging and advantageous for the world. Education could be gaining knowledge from teachers or life experiences, to learning the difference between right or wrong. In other words, education allows one to choose an ethical path to follow. For that very reason, many people try their best to receive a higher education in seek of fulfilling the American Dream. For past generations, the American Dream was to finish high school, go to college, and eventually obtain a well paying job, which would allow one to create their own family, own all the luxuries in the world, and not lift a finger. Many thought of America to be the a country where all of your dreams will come true, and that one day there would be a possibility of becoming wealthy. However, one must come to the realization that education is America doesn’t come cost-free. Therefore, one’s American Dream could either be fulfilled or unattainable depending on their access to education. There comes a fork in the road when one finishes high school and thinks about their future life. While the thought of having a life full of luxuries is pleasant, it’s nearly impossible to do so without receiving an extended education. Most teenagers’ biggest or top goals is to get accepted into their dream university, leading them a step closer to their desired future. If one proceeds with their education and receives their degree, they are at an advantage, as not everyone has the opportunity to do so. One who has received a college education goes into the world being able to get an entry level job in their field of study, and pursue their career. For instance, a

parent, Tracy Hood Ballinger, (April 13, 2016), left a comment on an education blog at carpediemschools.com, posted that her son had to choose between video game designing and attending medical school .While both are passions of the teenager, he had to choose the path which would be beneficial for him, that being medical school. A research completed in 2015 by brookings.edu , has also concluded that a higher education is needed to achieve the American Dream. Lastly, http://college-education.procon.org has compiled a list of advantages of receiving s college education, with better employment opportunities given to someone. Lastly,  human rights activist Malcolm X Shabazz has mentioned during his lifetime, “Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today.” This quote goes on to demonstrate that the newer generation has the potential to excel in life and make the world a more functioning place for all. When one has their life planned out and receives their degree, sometimes people will have a change of heart and want to pursue a different occupation, while still in the same field. One will not be restricted to pursue the career on which they planned, as there are always a number of related occupations. On the other hand, while attending college and receiving a bachelors/masters degree sounds incredible, the price of college in incredibly high. Unless one receives a ton of financial aid, grants, or scholarships, the thought of the cost will always be running through ones mind. In many cases, this may not be the story for those who don’t need any financial support to attend college. Most Americans that have graduated from college would be able to verify that there will be some type of student debt after concluding your studies. For instance, studies done at collegedata.com show that the average college debt of a public university is around $22,000, while a private university is nearly $43,000(Marc  Joseph, 09/17/2013). not be the best path, taking into consideration some very successful people who are self made, such as Ellen Degeneres, Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, etc (10/27/2016). It may seem impossible, but creating your own brand could one day turn into a successful industry just as these few have. Some of today’s well known celebrities have expanded their name through the world after years of perseverance. Sometimes one has to fail to get to the point they want, just as these now successful couple of people did. Furthermore, for some who already know that they don’t want to attend college and have made life plans, they realize that college would’ve pushed away life goals. Some believe that going to college right after high school intervenes with possible memorable events. For instance, http://college-education.procon.org would say that going to college would intervene with possible memorable moments for some, such as purchasing a very first home, getting married, or building up credit. That is a smart way to think about putting off college for a bit of time, as one’ll be living life before they get hit by reality if they choose to. However, how does putting college off build up the path to achieve the American Dream one might ask. The response is that it’s difficult, but manageable. However, there are more opportunities available for those who receive an extensive education rather than those who don’t pursue a higher education. Regardless of the cost of college tuition, one will manage to get through all the expenses as the work pays off in the long run. According to the NY Times (May  27, 2014), those who have received a degree from a four year university will end up getting paid 89% more than those who didn’t receive a college degree. As you can see, this high projected number will account for the debt that one will have left over from college tuition and other expenses. When one is making money off their degree,

This way one will have money to provide for their future family. Also, by one saving their money wisely, they will be able to one day achieve the high goals that they have set for themselves in America. Once one accomplishes this, one will know they have achieved the American Dream. Depending on one’s choice ability to extend or achieve their education, one can achieve the ultimate American Dream. Many would expect for it to be easy to become wealthy in America and not have to work to their maximum potential. People in the past would think of America to be a land where one will receive everything they hoped of having, but the reality is harsh. It would be great if America was truly “the land in which life should be better and richer...with opportunity for each.” One must persist to expand their higher education, as it is one of the best ways to fulfill the American Dream.” As it is the task of the educator to fill the younger generation with brightness, it is crucial that today’s pupils are properly educated if they’re the ones who are the face of tomorrow....
