We did our reviewed about the article entitled “Are we too dependent on computers?” written by Ben Russel. Based on the research conducted among the society that is too dependent on computers. The author agrees that society is being too reliable with computers, especially young learners. There are several reasons computers can give a lot of disadvantages to society. First and foremost, computers can give us a lot of disadvantages. One of them is, students use the content that they got from websites to complete their assignments and this can discourage learning because it can increase the level of illiteracy which learners are deterred from thinking independently. Next, children who are used to computers would not want to participate in any other activity because they do not find it interesting. They may end up being obese due to spending all their free time at home and using a computer only. In addition, strained eyes is another disadvantage of too much computer use. They will have difficulties with seeing letters as they have to strain their eyes in order to see. In addition, we find that the article is well-written for the general common issue that has always been talked about by society. The use of language that has been used by the author is easily understandable because it is not complicated to read. We also agree with all the facts and research that has been used in the article. Furthermore, the article is well organized with a clear thesis statement, topic sentences, and supporting details. However, the facts given by the author can not convince the reader because this author is only stating his opinion based on his point of view about the society that overly depends on computers to survive in the world of technology. The article is not supported with statistical evidence from the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology, and Innovation and therefore the opinion of the author can be construed as not reliable. We disagree with the author who just said the use of this computer only has a negative effect because for us the author failed to say that the use of this computer can also provide a variety of benefits to users no matter whether the user is young or old learners. Hence, almost everywhere in the world, is using technology as a priority such as the use of smart-cards and traffic lights, bank doors, and also manufacturing companies. This will be a problem when some technological failure occurs as everything will start to malfunction because people nowadays are too dependent on the internet and computers.

Based on the weaknesses of the article written, the article must be improved with the author must provide any accurate data or statistics about society's expectations of computers, the author must also use research from the right source because from there can further strengthen every fact and idea presented. In conclusion, the author provides a good general article for readers who want someone's point of view. Therefore, our recommendation is that those who want the exact disadvantages and advantages of using computers and technology must obtain information from the right sources....
