RESEARCH PROPOSAL:

will eliminate medication error. Nurses are the most trusted medical profession among patients. At various times patients quickly discuss their problems with nurses instead then other medical staff. Nurses are well acquaintance and proficiencies; however, we see an inaccuracy in administering medication do happen, and their consequences are critical for patients. These medication inaccuracies can be solved mainly by nurse’s carefulness while working and increase in the number of staffing by hospital management.

As nurses carefully take care of the patient, they have a big responsibility to accomplish. The nurse should be meticulous in delivering the right medication to the right patient. Before giving medicine to the patient, the nurse should look for all the parameter that is necessary to follow without rushing toward other duties. I perceive one incident that I would like to share — one of the nurses at my

3 previous job administered IV medication that belongs to the other twin. The company didn’t disclose the consequences that the patient had after getting the wrong medication, but I am sure there will be some significant steps taken after this incident. From my perspective, similar error more frequently happens at every health profession places, some mistakes are caught and some goes unnoticed. After I graduate from nursing school, I will be very cautious in not making these mistakes.

Another medication error that I read in the article is excessive workload and long working hours done by nurses due to short of employees. Hospital management can solve these difficulties by increasing employees, providing frequent education to staff, and encouraging staff.

With adequate staffing and carefulness of nurses will reduce medication inaccuracy at great extent. By implementing these two factors, mortality ratio and complication from medication inaccuracy will be lower.
