Description

I chose the story “hush” by Anton Chekhov. The story is about a journalist named Ivan Krasnyhin who returns home late and tries to write, but needs complete silence from his family and his surroundings. I think Ivan is a dedicated but at the same time selfish man as he wakes his wife just to make him tea in order for him to carry on with his work. I found a review by Dermot McManus at “sittingbee.com” website. My view on Ivan concurs well with Dermot as he wrote “ In Hush! by Anton Chekhov we have the theme of dedication, sacrifice, fear, frustration, selfishness, aspirations, writing and control ” (McManus, 2017, para.1). even though Ivan’s attempt wasn’t that effective, he didn’t stop he kept going (McManus, 2017). Taking this course has helped me learn a lot. I learned how to properly punctuate a sentence, how to avoid plagiarism by using citations and references, and be grammatically better. I like how the assessments are helping develop my skills step by step going through each unit.

Written assignment While sports may lead to injuries, everyone should practice sports or exercises of any kind. Because it is great for mental health, improving lung function, increasing fitness, and it helps avoid obesity. This essay will try to explain each of the above listed points further, and finally show why we should continue practicing them every day. As mental health is the key to have a happy life, to enjoy our surroundings, and to develop good relationships with people around us, regularly practicing of sports or different exercises help maintain it. This is because sports help in avoid stress and build one’s self confidence as well as self-esteem. Going for a jog or for a run helps clear one’s head. They also help treat anxiety and depression. Swimming, running, playing basketball or football, rowing are some sports that help increase our lung capacity and increase our physical fitness. Having a good lung capacity gives us better breathing and good resistance against lung diseases. Being physically fit means having strong muscles and bones. Failing to exercise leads to an excessive amount of body fat or obesity. Obesity is a serious condition that leads to high blood pressure, diabetes and heart diseases which all are fatal. If we force our body to do sports greater than what it actually can withstand or if we overuse them, they lead to different injuries. But if we practice them with care and caution, they have great advantages. So, everyone should be able to exercise in order to maintain good overall health.
