WHA WHAT T HA HAVE VE I LEARNT SO F FAR? AR? In my career as a student of languages until the third semester we have met different teachers that have taught us a little part of their knowledge with various pedagogical models, which have helped us in our training as future teachers of languages. What I have learnt so far has been very important because it has been a basis that will give us greater understanding to the knowledge that we will get in the coming semesters. A piece of what we have learnt in these three semesters has been: Verb tenses: In this category we’re going to talk only about PAST TENSE and all its ways to use it. Simple merely happened at some indefinite time in the past. “I talked.” Perfect as we know is an action that started and finished in the past. “I had talked.” Progressive we understood that it is an ongoing action that happened sometime in the past. “I was talking.” Perfect progressive is not as easy as the other ones but it is understandable, it is an ongoing action that started, continued, and finally stopped in the past. “I had been talking.” Collocations: As we have seen collocations are words that must be together all the time because they complement each other. “I don’t worry about anything, I’m alive and kickin kicking g” “I don’t like my new roommate, she likes making trouble for everything” Some of the other topics seen and learned it, was the second conditional and it is used for imaginary situations in the present and in the future and its structure is if+Past simple+ would (or ´d) +infinitive. “If I had more friends, I wouldn’t live alone.” “If you spoke more languages, you’d have more foreign friends”

Passive voice is other of the subjects we learned and we wanted to include it because it was one of subject that we couldn’t get at the beginning but with practice we understood the subject perfectly. “The house is being built by a famous arquitect.” “The bags are carried by me.” We explained basis subjects and how important is for our English communication. All these subjects have been totally useful for our understanding and for our training as future teachers as I said it before, is not only about learning a couple of rules of English grammar but getting all that knowledge that we need to speak English fluently and to give understanding to our future students.
