It is acceptable for people to have plastic surgery, even if there is nothing wrong with their appearance at all? Plastic surgery is a medical specialty that includes reconstructive interventions, this is to restore the shape and functionality of any part of the body of patients who have suffered accidents, birth defects, among others. But also for aesthetic purposes, to change some part of the natural body to the desired shape, often these decisions are influenced by stereotypes imposed by society. Stereotypes are mental images about qualities accepted as perfect, shared by society. They have a negative influence on relationships between people, make it difficult for them to live together, are the basis of discriminatory attitudes such as exclusion and bullying, and can have serious consequences in people who are not within these models, such as low selfesteem and wanting to change their aesthetic image, leaving aside their nature. There are people who do not have the necessary money to have plastic surgery, however they use more risky methods that threaten their health, each person lives internal battles, only they know their suffering, so they are free to do what they want with their body, if they decide to work their self-esteem by accepting themselves as they are or experiencing changes, in this way they can still achieve self-love. It is difficult not to be superficial when dealing with this subject, but beyond physical changes, plastic surgery allows to face physical "defects" that produce complexes or insecurities, mainly due to the influence of external opinions and stereotypes.
