Harsh Jobalia SCHM2301 Professor Power 7th February, 2021 Evergreen Products Case Evergreen products aim to reduce its overall cost while increasing customer satisfaction levels and their overall experience. Evergreen’s present order entry process is quite obsolete because it is very manual, extremely cumbersome and time consuming and it causes error around 40% of the times. Instead, they should establish a streamlined order entry process that will improve their efficiency, improve labor productivity and also improving customer experience. Evergreen is on the verge of losing critical customers due to its current order entry process. For example, customers want better prices (order winner) or higher quality products with quicker deliveries (order qualifiers). To benefit the company and its customers, Evergreen should improve its supply chain process beginning at the bottleneck, i.e., the human error involved in the review of the orders and the delivery of those orders. Since, Evergreen’s products sell for very high margin (about 60%), cleaning up and improving their supply chain process will increase efficiency and hence, their overall cost which gives them higher economies of scale. I would recommend adapting an automated electric order entry system. Firstly, this will definitely eliminate the human errors involved in any process across the supply chain. Initially, it will take some time for the workers and the customers to get used to the new system but once it settles in, the entire supply chain process will be a lot more efficient. An automatic electric order system will give additional benefits such as a storage of all the previous order histories. Evergreen can use this data to start categorizing its customers based on their preferences. Evergreen can also send out special offers to customers on the products they prefer. This will improve customer relationship and increase brand recognition....
