W103 Fiction Portfolio DUE: February 26, 2018 Bring all materials to class section. You will NOT submit the portfolio to Canvas. CONTENTS 1.
INTRODUCTION TO PORTFOLIO 750-1000 words typed (3-4 pages), typed, double-spaced
An “introduction” or creative analysis that discusses your artistic and craft process in the fiction writing process and the decisions you made in revising the fiction assignments you wrote for this class. Be specific and cite particular examples, from your work, when referring examples of craft decisions.
Craft elements to consider: Narrator Voice Character Forces of Antagonism—what stands in the way of the protagonist getting what he or she wants? Dialogue Point of View (who tells?) Voice, Diction, Tone Image & Metaphor Setting and Atmosphere Style Title Please be sure that drafts and the final version of the story are clearly labeled as such and that your name appears on all drafts AND on the introduction to your portfolio. Organize the portfolio in either a folder or a slim binder.

FINAL DRAFTS of ALL FICTION ASSIGNMENTS (1-4). FULLY RESVISE all of the assignments, incorporating the feedback from your instructors.
Include a minimum of 1 rough draft (for each piece) + FINAL DRAFT. The final draft must be: titled, paginated, and double-spaced, using 12pt font, with 1” margins. The first page should have your name, date, and section number as well as the word count. Word counts will be the same as the original assignment.
“Fully-revised” means substantial and meaningful reworking of your material taking into account various elements of craft in an effort to fully realize your creative assignments on the page....
