Flat Earth Theory Argument Analysis The argument of the Earth being flat is a very controversial subject, with criticism aimed especially at those who believe it. Many will say that there is no possible way to have a supported argument supporting this theory of the world being flat, but there is a large amount of arguments that some believe prove this theory to be true. The flat Earth theory has had an increase in relevance over the years, with the number of arguments both for and against it also increasing. The first argument I will discuss, and one of the most common arguments for the flat Earth theory is one that seems to ignore all evidence and science and follows a very simple and flawed way of thinking. This argument is “The Earth looks and feels flat, so it must be flat.” Immediately, you can tell that this is a very weak argument, with no real evidence. This is a form of reasoning, because these people are linking the thoughts that the Earth to them looks flat and feels flat, and believing that provides support for the idea that the Earth is actually flat. However, this does not make this argument have logical strength by any means, it simply gives a hint into the thought process behind it.
