For One More Day – Novel Reflection I have read the novel “For One More Day” by Mitch Albom. I really enjoyed this book and it has changed my perspective on things in life in so many ways. It is a truly beautiful story, and it has been a journey to read it. I am a person who really enjoys reading books, but lately I have found myself not being able to concentrate long enough or find a book that I get attached to. English is not my native language, but I love reading books in English, as long as it is easy to comprehend. That is why I am glad that I got the opportunity to read this novel. It was very easy to understand, and it was very difficult to put the book down at times. Currently I am thousands of miles away from my family. Missing my family back at home comes in waves. When I was reading this book, all I could think about was my beloved mother back at home and how much I love her. She is such a strong woman and reminds me a lot about Chick´s mother Posey. This book has taught me to not take anything for granted, and to truly appreciate my family. I may not talk to my mother every day due to a 7-hour time difference, but every now and then I call her or write her a message reminding her that I love her. This novel has made me realize that a mother´s love is unconditional, and so is my love for my mother. This book also made me think of my grandmother who passed away in cancer 6 years ago. She was my everything and hear death was very sudden. This book made me think of what I would do if I had one more day with her, and the things I would tell her. There is not a single day where I do not think of her. After reading For One More Day, I feel hopeful that I will see her again. Maybe in another life or after my current one. After reading this book, I am very curious of the author Mitch Albom. I really enjoyed his writing techniques and storytelling, and I would love to read some of his other books as well. I am happy to have read this book, because now I am excited to start to read again....
