BACKGROUND

Is there a philosophy behind Forever 21? What kind of brand image are they trying to create? Forever 21 originally started as “Fashion 21”. As the company grew, the founder Don Chang decided to renamed it to “Forever 21”. The meaning behind the brand name is not clear, but my guess is it simply means “forever young”. It’s a fashion brand targeted toward women around 20 to 30 who are transitioning from girls to an adult and probably starting to become more aware of their age due to both physical and mental changes, so the word “forever” seems appropriate to create the image for these women to always be forever young and beautiful. Apart from the images of youth and beauty, Forever 21 is also subtly, or not so subtly, promoting the founder’s religious view.

HISTORY

FOREVER 21 store was founded in los angeles , California on April 21 , in 1984 by a South Korean Do Wong Chang and his wife Jin Sook Chang. The chain , originally known as Fashion 21 . It was intended at first mostly for middle-aged women. The store became well known and got so much business that they had enough money to open a new store every six months. That's when they changed name from Fashion21 to Forever21 . by 1997 , there were 40 Forever21 stores. Today Forever21 has many different brands within the company, brands like Forever 21 , Forever XXI , For Love 21 and Gadzooks. They sell children's, girls, women, men and extended sizes clothing, shoes, accessories, and intimates. it is a great less expensive and fashion foward store and now they have 723 stores worldwide

Forever 21 Malaysia has been opened in malaysia since 8 years ago. The location of the company is at Sunway Pyramid Shopping Mall. Our company is one of the branches in Malaysia that offers fashion and accessories from the big name company which called Forever 21. The brand is very well known throughout many countries over the world. We manage to open this branch in Malaysia to make people easier to buy the clothes and so on by walk in and online in Malaysia. We are also given an easy way for people who stay close to our country to get Forever 21 stuff especially in Malaysia. VISION The vision of the our company is to be the best and well known company in Malaysia who sell fashionable and trendy clothes and accessories with the best way of delivery and services to our customers. MISSION The mission of the company is to get more customers who can subscribe online and register with our company. We also want to be the best medium for people in Malaysia to get Forever 21 stuff. Our company also wants to compete with other brands in Malaysia such as Mango,Levis, Zara and Many more. OBJECTIVE The objectives of the online website is to make people easier to make an order and get the stuff in faster way. The customers do not have to take time to go to the shop. They can just order anything by browsing through the website.

The stores are:  Forever 21: main and original store carrying women's clothing, accessories, swimwear, lingerie, and shoes.  XXI Forever: flagship mega store carrying merchandise from all store formats.  Heritage1981: vintage clothing, accessories, and shoes for men and women.  Gadzooks21: women merchandise at discounted prices.  Reference: women merchandise at discounted prices.  For Love21: Accessories for women.  Twelve by Twelve: Upscale Los Angeles inspired clothing.  Faith21: clothing for plus-size women  Love21: contemporary line for women

DO WON CHANG Born: March 20, 1954 (age 64 years), South Korea Spouse: Jin Sook Chang Residence: Beverly Hills, California, U.S Children: Linda Chang, Esther Chang - Do Won Chang is a billionaire Korean-born American businessman. - He founded the clothing store chain Forever 21 with his wife Jin Sook Chang. - Do Won Chang originally belongs to South Korea. He never had a big life in his own country either. In fact , he grew up working in coffee shops. - To support them both, Do Wan was forced to work 3 job as a janitor, a gas station attendant and coffee shop assistant. - Eventually, they managed to save the money to open their first clothing store in 1984, eventually becoming Forever 21.

JIN SOOK CHANG Date of birth: July 1963 (age 55 years) place of birth: South Korea - Chang is chief merchandising officer. Currently, Jin Won occupies the position of Vice Chairman-Executive Board at SFA Engineering Corperation . - Mrs. Won received an undergraduate degree from Waseda University and an undergraduate degree from Brown University. - This company is one of the most successful female brands in the world. - Forever 21's co founder, Chang came to the U.S. in 1981 and worked as a hairdresser to make ends meet. - In 1984, she and her husband Do Won used $11,000 in savings to open a 900 sqfoot clothing store in Los Angeles, initially called Fashion 21. employs 43,000 people in 800 stores across 56 countries.
