Freedom Writers Movie Review

The story has a strong inspirational message dedicated to the students having difficulty in life. One teacher believed that they can be something more. She was the hope of her students. An appetitive value was seen in many scenes. How they survive in their everyday life or how they fight hunger. A Sensuous or sexual value was seen in every student. It may be the way they act or how they dressed however, for me it was how they realized that reading is very pleasurable. An aesthetic value was seen everywhere, in the museum, in the school or basically where the story was taken. It has a nice impact to it. Next was the intellectual value. The scene about students knowing holocaust was the best example of this value. It’s their desire to know more, to learn more. The teacher made it possible for them to have a trip in a museum and have a conversation with the holocaust survivors. It was a momentous moment. In my opinion, the very best value that was seen in the movie is the moral value, the concept of right and wrong. When they invited the person who hid Anna, she explained how she was only doing what is right and she is no hero. Another example of this was when Eva confessed to the judge. She knew it was the right thing to do. Even in real life, moral value is seen in our everyday life. Even if you are a student or a citizen in this country, you could cheat or kill anyone in the streets but you know what’s right and wrong. A spiritual value was seen where a student was evicted in their home and his classmates came up to him and hug him, telling him that he have them for support, telling him he is home. It’s a very emotional scene. As the story goes, you would see a personal value. There was a scene how a student explained how they protect their own kind or that if they die in a war on street, then you get respect. It feels like this is the only thing that was keeping them from living which is very sad on my part. However, the teacher made them realize that they are worth more than what they are thinking. A psychological value was seen in the students life. The way they were raised or where they have lived. How they were divided and how the teacher captured their interest by books. A sociological value is in this movie too, in the holocaust regime, the school or government. A cultural value has a nice impact in the movie. It’s in their race, their goals, concepts, and beliefs of each students. Obviously, there was historical value in the movie and it was the holocaust. A behavioral value is seen where students behaved from the start of the movie and how they were changed by the end of the movie. This movie basically has the educational value. It was very eye opening and you could see how you would learn so much in this movie. It can be about the world, how discrimination is frowned upon. Of course the political value was seen in how the school works and how this one teacher changed it by going to the higher ups. The sensational value was seen when they invited the one who hid Anna and when they were given an opportunity to have a conversation with the holocaust survivors. The last value that was seen here was the sentimental value and obviously it was the books. The books are everything. It changes a student perspective. They have learned what life feels like with other people. That they are not alone. For me, this movie is dedicated to all students and teachers. Never lose hope....
