2021-2022 FSCJ DUAL ENROLLMENT ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS Important Notes: • Test score requirements are determined by FSCJ. • Student must be eligible (have GPA, test scores, and prerequisite) prior to the start of class. • Official score reports are required with dual enrollment applications for ACT, SAT, PERT (College Success printout). Scores from FOCUS are not accepted. • Scores are interchangeable. A qualifying PERT Reading, SAT Reading, or ACT Reading & English score can be paired with a math score from PERT, the SAT, or the ACT. • Students must be tested in Reading, Writing and Math when taking PERT for the first time. • When using qualifying SAT Reading or ACT Reading & English scores for Academic Dual Enrollment, the student must submit a PERT Math attempt, if the student does not have a minimum math score for that test. • Students must retest Reading, Writing and Math if the PERT, ACT, or SAT test score date is older than two years from the start date of the course and earn a new qualifying score. • Students must take SLS 1103 within the first two semesters of participation in dual enrollment. • Students must successfully complete English II prior to enrolling in a dual enrollment course other than SLS1103. • Students must successfully complete Geometry and Algebra II prior to enrolling in MAT1033, MAC1105, MGF1106, or MGF1107. (see Math Pathways) • Students must meet the testing requirement for MAC1105, College Algebra, or take MAT1033, Intermediate Algebra, as the prerequisite. • MAT1033 = 4 credit hour elective at FSCJ. MAT1033 = 0.5 credit in math for DCPS. • MGF1106, Topics in College Math, is not a prerequisite for MAC 1105. (see Math Pathways) • MGF1106 or MAC1105 serves as a prerequisite for STA2023, Elementary Statistics. (see Math Pathways) SLS 1103 – Strategies for Life & Success: Grade Level

2021-2022 FSCJ DUAL ENROLLMENT ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS High School Campus Fall 2020 ONLY COVID-19 Testing Exception for Registration During Fall 2020 students with a 2.5-2.9 GPA will not be able to enroll in SLS1103 unless he/she has a qualifying reading score prior to June 8, 2020. No scores earned after June 8, 2020 will be used to register a student for Fall 2020. High School Campus Dual Enrollment Fall Semester 2020 Only: Grade 11 & 12 students that do not have college ready test scores will be considered eligible to take Dual Enrollment courses if they have • a cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.0, • already successful completion of SLS1103 through FSCJ (or had their EWC transcript sent to FSCJ), • and a B average (3.0) or higher in the subject area course the student wishes to take. Students without test scores will be limited to enrollment in the following courses: • AMH2010 United States History to 1877 • AMH2020 United States History from 1877 to Present • SLS1103 Strategies for Success in College, Career and Life • BSC1005 Life in its Biological Environment • BSC1005L Biology Lab • DEP2004 Human Growth Development (B average in English) • ENC1101 English Composition I • ESC1000 Earth and Space Science • ESC1000L Earth and Space Science Laboratory • EVR1001 Introduction to Environmental Science • HUM2210 Humanities: Prehistory to the 15th Century (B average in English) • HUM2020 Topics in the Humanities (B average in English) • MAT1033 Intermediate Algebra • MGF1106 Topics in College Mathematics • MGF1107 Explorations in Mathematics • POS2041 American Federal Government • PSY1012 General Psychology (B average in English) • SYG2000 Introductory Sociology (B average in English) Students wishing to take courses other than those listed above such as higher-level science and mathematics courses must have qualifying PERT, ACT, SAT scores prior to June 8, 2020. Students who are successful in coursework taken in Fall 2020 will not need to take placement tests for continuation in the program in Spring 2021 with the following exception: Students who did not take mathematics or science in Fall 2020 and wish to take mathematics or science in Spring 2021 will need to take a placement test for qualification.
