First, list your research topic and the revised research question you plan to address moving forward. The birth of the United States of America was a time of unknowing. The Articles of Confederation were not written with the future of the country in mind. Post-Revolutionary War America needed refinement after declaring independence. The economy of the nation wasn’t well defined and trade borders kept wealth based inequalities in place.

The drafters of the U.S. Constitution, primarily the founding fathers knew that there would be unrest from those who benefited from the Articles of Confederation and they knew that, to make the most impact on the nation, they had to pass statutes and laws in order to unify different socio-economic classes.

Trade barriers and wealth inequality divided the nation after the revolutionary war. The only action that could be taken was to change the way our economy was set up, bridge the gaps that were left from the Articles of Confederation. The only way to do this was to draft the U.S. Constitution.

The economic impact the changes made by the U.S. Constitution was a controversial topic between the Federalists and the AntiFederalists. The U.S. Constitution not only shaped our new democracy but also our economy both domestic and abroad. The drafters were known as the Federalists and they knew that, for a nation to succeed we needed equality and economic freedom....
