1-4 Short Response: Historical Bias What do you believe to be the major distinctions between the two’s personal assumptions, beliefs, and values? There is a difference between Zinn’s and Schweikart’s beliefs, values and personal assumptions. Schweikart is an old-fashioned person who sees free trade and limited government. Howard Zinn believes the government and the police are bias and not for people. He believes everyone should have a voice. What do you believe to be the major distinctions in their interpretations of history?
Zinn appears with an open mind and seems to be really speaking from experiences for the world to be better. Schweikart speaks on a more personal level about how he feels and believes. Do you notice any biases? If so, what are they? The bias to me, Zinn does not have a problem telling the history of the United States from another person point of view. This is why he calls it peopletts history. Most Americans histories are told from the point of view of the wealthy and powerful. Zinn thinks histories are themselves biased, because the struggles and sufferings of all people to present a successful chronicle of American progress....
