What do you believe to be the major distinction in their personal assumptions, beliefs, and values? After reading the article on Howard Zinn and Larry Schweikart there are so many differences between Larry Schweikart’s and Howard Zinn’s beliefs, assumption, and values. Howard Zinn talked about himself as a socialist that believes that the police are bias and the government is as well and not for the people of this nation. He talks about that all people, even including minorities, should have a voice in the United States. While Larry Schweikart is an oldfashion type of person who talks about little government and free trade involvement is the way to a better, successful, and strong United States economy. 2. What do you believe to be the major distinctions in their interpretations of history? A big major distinction in how Howard Zinn and Larry Schweikart talk about history, is in Howard Zinn appears to be more open minded to things in his life. In Howard Zinn’s article, he seems to talk from his own beliefs and experiences that the nation would be a better place. While Larry Schweikart talks more of his own feelings and beliefs. 3. Do you notice any biases? If so, what are they? I think that Larry Zinn is biases, he doesn’t try to hide the fact by telling the history of the United States from the eyes of a common person, which is why he says it’s a people’s history. He thinks that average American histories are from the eyes of the powerful and wealthy. He believes those histories are biases themselves and because of that, it has softened the suffering and struggles of African American people, Women, Immigrants, Native Americans, and even the poor in order to show a successful story of the history of American success and progress....
