Description

Student Name Professor Name ESOL 0310 23 Oct 2020 How to Format a Typed Essay When you write an essay, you should follow the instructions listed below. Your paragraphs should look like this paragraph. Notice that there is space between the lines and that the first line of the paragraph is indented. After each period (.) there is only one space. These things make it easy for the teacher to read your essay and to write notes on it. 1. Use 12-point Times New Roman or Arial font. 2. Use normal margins. Normal is 1 inch on all sides. 3. Use double (2.0) line spacing for the whole paper. 4. Put your name, your professor’s name, the class (ESOL 0310) , and the date (23 Jan 2020) at the TOP LEFT of your paper. 5. Center the title. Remember that a title is a few words (not a complete sentence) to introduce your topic. Remember to capitalize all words in a title except articles (a, an, the), prepositions (in, at, on, to…) and conjunctions (and, but, or…). Remember that the FIRST word of a title is always capitalized. Don’t underline your title. Don’t use “quotes,” italics, bold or ALL CAPITAL LETTERS.

6. Use the “Tab” key to INDENT each paragraph. Only indent the first line of a new paragraph. (For example, this means you will indent five times to write five paragraphs.)...
