Writing… … a comment A comment type of essay takes a topic or statement (which can be based on a text) and an opinion is expressed and expanded upon with examples to support it. If the task leaves it open to you to decide, choose the opinion you wish to present here. Collect all the material (examples and arguments) you can to support your opinion. Then organise your material. You need to decide in which order you are going to present your arguments and examples. It is a good idea to start with the weakest and end with the strongest. Make an outline. The introduction should arouse the reader’s interest in the topic but does not contain your opinion. This comes in the second part. All of your arguments and examples are presented in the third part before you summarize your opinion in the conclusion.
