Importance of Salesmanship Salesmanship is an art form and when it is done brilliantly, is a pleasure to experience. Salesmanship is an ability a salesperson uses in personal sales. It is a faceto - face contact technique between a seller and a buyer where the seller uses his ability to convince the buyer to make the final buying decision. According to David Kean on his talk about the ‘Art of Salesmanship’, this depends on where you come from thus having a different perspective on what the discipline of selling is all about. Moreover, David Kean explained that salesmanship is the foundation of businesses for some, whereas for others, selling is a dirty word that it is something people shy away from. Many Europeans find the idea of being described as salespeople really rather uncomfortable. But in America, selling is a cultural thing and it is part of the fabric of the society. As stated by Kean, we should understand that selling is the ability to structure a meeting, a conversation or a dialogue with somebody in a way that gets the best for them and the best for you. In other words, this is just helping people to do the right thing for their stated needs and to make the right choices and take the right actions. Salesmanship is the art of helping customers and clients in a structured way to make the best choice for them....
