Kumukutikutitap: The Effect of the distance of the artificial colored light to the growth of Aloe barbadenis miller (Aloe Vera Plant)

Introduction Growing a plant will take time to mature, with adequate light to convert into chemical energy directly influences the plant’s germination furthermore, manipulating the amount and types of the color of light could help significantly in the chloroplast of the cell, that proves the color of light affects the growth of plant faster than normal growth using natural sunlight (Chen, 2004). In addition, plant response to light differ based on the lighting environment, season, genotype, cultivation practices and many others (Kozai, 2016). One of the most important factors when growing an aloe vera plant is the amount of light it receives (Mc Mullen, 1018). Sunlight plays a key role in the long-term health and well-being of aloe vera, although individual plant needs vary depending on positioning, soil and age. Aloe vera performs best in full sun, especially in cooler microclimates where fog or overcast skies are common. Moreover, Minolta (2006) study was about

proving artificial blue light helps in the growth of plant by that reason, the investigators desire to test if the other variables in his experimentation like distance has significantly affect the result of his investigation. The main objective of this study is to figure out the following questions: 1. What will be the significant effect of the distance of artificial blue light to the aloe vera plant according to the given parameter? 1.1 height of the plant 1.2 number of leaves 1.3 width of the leaves 2. What are the difference of using artificial light instead of only natural sunlight? 3. What given distance could make the aloe vera plant grow faster? 1.1 40-degree angle and 60 inches. 1.2 40-degree angle and 30 inches. 1.3 40-degree angle and 20 inches. The researchers want to find out other methods for growing indoor plants. This study might be useful for the plant owner and to the future research.

Research Methods Research Design This research uses True experimental design due to establishing cause and effect relationship of distance to the growth of plant. Another criterion to be met is the control group which in our experiment we choose sunlight. Instrumentation In able to fulfill this experiment, the researchers will be needing a room that quite dark to avoid exposing the plant to sunlight and four pumps of Aloe Vera Plant. Fluorescent lamp and cellophane chamber will be the source of artificial colored light. Also, using a tape measure to quantify the height and length of the leaves of Aloe Vera and a ruler for the distance of artificial light from plant which are: all pot is in 40-degree angle with a distance of 60 inches, 30 inches and 20 inches. All pot should be of the same size and amount of water (30 ml).

Procedure The three aloe vera will be exposed in artificial light with the color of blue and placing it in their respective distance. Meanwhile, one pot will be exposing only in sunlight. Each plant is expected to water two times in a week with the same measurement. The plants will stay on their respective places untill the end of our experimentation.

Data Analysis Method In gathering data, the researchers are expected to measure every length, width and height (every week) with their chosen materials. This experiment might last for a month for better observation and after that the data will be analyzed by the researchers. They can now compare and contrast the different effect to the different treatment of aloe vera plant. Hypothesis The investigators assume that the plant exposed in artificial light will grow faster than the plant in sunlight. Comparing the effect of the distance, higher level might not be enough for faster growth and too lower might be harmful for the plant. The investigators expect that medium level of the distance will be enough to supply the needs of the plant. Unexpected outcome might occur in this experimentation. The researchers will be struggling on how are they going to water the plant without changing the setup. In alternative for that, every chamber will contain a small opening that can cover after that. Using a syringe for alternative material in watering the plant. Scope and Delimitations The focus of this study is to determine the effect of the different distance of artificial light to the growth of Aloe Vera plant. This experimentation limits in using only one color of artificial light which is blue and three measurement of distance. This study considers every data that is unexpectedly happened must state in this paper for further observation....
