The purpose of this map is to show Lost Pines Outfitter’s primary system and the involvement of nodes in the online order fulfillment process. The system begins with the customer placing an order online, which in turn, the warehouse receives the customer’s order. The warehouse’s computer gets the order, and then an associate gets the order and looks for the item’s location in the warehouse. Once the location is given to the associate, the associate pulls the item and then updates the inventory system. Once the order is picked and updated, the associate then sends the item to the fulfillment center where the order is packed and readied to be shipped. The item is

packed by an associate, where the associate gives the package a tracking number by the shipping company. Once the tracking number is given, the associate checks the tracking number and then updates the status of the order. The package is sent to the customer and receives their order than a “thank you” card is then sent to the customer asking for feedback and thanking them for their business. The feedback loops in the system can found when the associate is looking for the item’s location in the warehouse. This, in turn, gives the associate the information like the amount on hand and where to find another loop is when the associate updates the information in the system, and the cycle begins again. The tracking system is another loop; the associate gives the package a tracking number that number gives details to associate about where the package is at and if it was delivered. Once the package is delivered, this gives a notification to the associate to send a thank you card to the customer....
