In this study, three different conditions were applied which the first one is reading multimedia book with adult support (MA), secondly is reading a printed storybook with adult support (PA) and the third condition used are kids reading a multimedia storybook independently (M). All the three conditions are retelling the same story in order to maintain the consistency. After that, the researchers utilize questionnaire by asking open-ended questions related to the story and the kids should make inferences from the story that have been told. For the condition of printed storybook with adult support (PA), the researcher implement reading using tone and used finger referencing to draw their visual detail of the storybook that they have read. This condition is adopting a nonverbal communication such as use of eye contact and smiling. Next, for the condition of reading multimedia storybook independently (M), it started with the demonstration on how to use the TellyBear and where to touch in case they want to replay or restart the animation. TellyBear is a played animation that adopted from the printed storybook that were consist of multimedia element. The third condition which are reading multimedia storybook with adult support (MA) also implementing the same way as condition of kids reading multimedia storybook independently but the difference is with the supervision of the researcher. All of the three conditions were analysed based on the phrases that they can derived from the original text. 5.0 Findings and discussion From this article, there are result of three conditions that obtained from the research of comparing engagement in children's reading with and without adult support. Firstly, reading a multimedia storybook with adult support. 6 children choose this condition when being asked which from three conditions that they preferred. The children claim that it is fun to explore stories together with someone or adult support. They told that adult give them clues that lead them to decide what they should do next. Other than that, with adult telling stories in a more understandable way, it assist them to listen clearly and remember. To improve the teaching productivity, some of the staff look to mainstream technology within education, by developing traditional techniques & using new educational methods (Al-A’ny, 2000). In this condition, adult support is like the traditional techniques that guide children in reading multimedia storybook with them using technology. Secondly, reading a print storybook with adult support . Only 2 children choose this condition when being asked which from three conditions that they preferred. The child told that her father always read printed storybooks to her. She also claimed that reading printed storybooks doesn’t hurt her eyes. Basically, these two children choose this condition because they worries about health when using electronic or multimedia storybooks in a long term. According to (Al2

Shaibani & Daoud, 2011) educators should map out for the best thinking of education and adult can convince their children to multimedia because the effectiveness of it will lead to improved learning expertise. Lastly, reading a multimedia storybook by themselves. Majority which are 16 children choose this condition when being asked which from three conditions that they preferred. Most of them love playing with the multimedia elements such as animation, sounds, music, picture and motion. According to (Mohamad Zaid, 2012) multimedia have been used by computers to present and integrate texts, audio and videos link devices that enables user to navigate, invent and also to communicate. Children told that with all of these elements it allowed them to playing with it such as tapping, pause, zoom and change the volume. Children love to control it by themselves without the help of anyone so that they can listen to the stories more clearly based on their own desire and understanding. Using different presentations like video clips along with maps or other element of presentations help to get the information closer to reality. Adding music attracts the attention of the learners and makes the idea clearer (Aloraini, 2005). Thereby, most of them interested and pleasant with the multimedia elements rather than static illustration. 6.0 Reflection There are so many benefit from this article that can be applied to country, community and even myself as a student. The benefit for country is Ministry of Education can take place in developing new ways to improve using multimedia or technology in education field. As we know because of Covid-19 pandemic many higher education or universities applying technology in education. We currently attended classes through online. Minister of Education can refer or find such similar ideas with what the researchers did in the article. Therefore, Ministry of Education should take the opportunity now to do the survey and developing new discoveries for education. With the advance of technology nowadays we can apply it more better. So that, our education field will more advanced and lead to the developed country. Next, the benefit for community is people must aware that gadgets and technology are helping us in many field nowadays. Related to the article, parents or adults should exposed children with gadgets for education not just give them gadgets just for their leisure time by playing games. For young age children they can start learning alphabet through games and application with the help of their parents. The effect of that children can develop problem-solving and critical thinking skills by playing computer games that have been design to develop children skills. It also lifting children’s enjoyment that will lead to the fun and understanding and in turned to makes them want to do or learn more. Lastly is the benefits for me as a student. Based on the article children really attracted with the multimedia elements that make them enjoy the storybook. In this case, not just them but teenagers or students also interested in multimedia. For example, our classmate will pay more attention with our presentation when we add animations, pictures and audio in our slide presentation rather than 3

static slide presentation. Moreover, when we are using software such as Powtoon, Canva, Animoto and many more because all of these produced creative and unique in order to deliver information in such fun and effective ways. Thus, student attention will increase and makes them focus and more understand the information. It also impacts student's mood during the learning process. Other than that, with the current issues that have been mention which is pandemic, students use internet to search for online information. Students can access to information is as easy as today, and exchanging information and engaging in class discussions are achieved in a more confident way in contrast with the face to face class they tend to be more passive. With that students tend to be more proactive and independent students that does not only depended to the lecturers. 7.0 Conclusion To sum up, children said that they enjoyed participating in all three conditions. Especially, multimedia lifting children’s enjoyment when they are reading it. Multimedia has been shown to be beneficial for learning. Animations, sounds and motions effectively stimulate the attention of learners and thus increase the experience of learning. Today, multimedia devices such as smartphones and computers become a necessity to anyone. Indicating the importance of multimedia in education, it could encourage imagination, and in addition providing information, which contributes to the development of new knowledge. Meanwhile, the use of multimedia for education is challenging for educator. This is because with the advent of advanced technology, sometimes students know better and can deceive educators. To meet the challenges, continuous effort, experience and expertise are really required from the authorize parties such as government and Ministry of Education to deal with it together. Implementation of existing technology should be utilized in innovative and more effective manner in enhancing quality and creating generations capable of facing challenges and more advanced.
