1. INTRODUCTION Industrial Training is one of the compulsory requirements for students pursuing a Diploma in Town and Regional Planning at University Technology MARA. This industrial training program is part of a syllabus for students to complete a diploma in town planning that takes 15 weeks with 7 credit hours beginning 3 September until 13 December 2019. In order to undergo this industry training, students are given the opportunity to select a government or private agency involved in urban planning for them to undergo industrial training there. This Industrial Training Program was introduced to strengthen the competencies needed to improve the job levels of graduates. It also gives students the opportunity to learn in the real world of work to achieve high marketability. This Industry Training also builds individual personality among students, helps students communicate more effectively, develops student discipline as students will practice good work ethics and regulations and give exposure to the work environment. In addition, industry training can enhance students' self-confidence and motivate students to continue their careers in the field of their choice after completing their industry training and studies at University Technology MARA.

1.1. Goal of Industrial Training To encourage students to apply their learned knowledge to the workplace while improving their technical skills during industrial training.

1.2. Objectives of Industrial Training The main objectives of this industrial training are: •

To be able to practice teamwork with colleagues.

To assessing students' career skills, knowledge and self-esteem during industrial training.

•

Enables students to apply university-learned theories and practices to this training ground in the industry.

•

To instill a sense of trust, responsibility and confidence in the real workplace.

To improve communication skills when dealing with clients or colleagues

1.3. Agency Selection Cerana Design Associates located in Seksyen 8, Shah Alam was my preferred placement for 15 weeks of industrial training (3 September - 13 December 2019). It was my goal to make the private firm my place of work during this industrial training. This is due to the more demanding scope of work and assignments. From there, the real challenges of the job world will be met. The challenge does not matter in the field of study or vice versa. Apart from a conducive workspace, the selection of placements for industry training here is, a work allowance will be given to student base on company-oriented profit. Not only that, the students who have performed well throughout the industrial training at this private firm, have a great opportunity to continue to work there. It's also a very high opportunity to get a full-time job. This is because the training period of the industry is already considered as a trial period before being offered a permanent position. The selection of this firm was the right choice for me to attend industry training here.

1.4. Appreciation Alhamdulillah and grateful to have completed 15 weeks of industrial training in Cerana Design Associates Sdn. Bhd. During I was in this firm, I was exposed to a wealth of knowledge and work experience a very useful and valuable tool that can be used in the future. I can also improve myself in terms of behavior, personality, self-discipline and even soft skills throughout the industry training. On this occasion, I would like to thank the administrator at Cerana Design Associates, Mr. TPr. Asri Bin Husin for giving me the opportunity to undergo industrial training at this firm. Not to mention, many thanks to the staff who have given me so much guidance throughout my training in this industry and the opportunity to conduct industry training there. Their guidance has helped me a lot in completing this training. I would also like to thank the industrial training coordinator at University Technology MARA, Seri Iskandar campus, Mr. Hasnizam Ab Dulhamid for providing guidance and assistance in ensuring that students can conduct industry training. Thanks also to both parents and family for being so provide moral and financial support throughout the industry. This message is also addressed to all parties involved in making this assignment either directly or indirectly. I appreciate all the help you have given me without your help and support.

AGENCY IDENTIFICATION

Cerana Design Associates Sdn. Bhd otherwise known as MHA Consulting Planners is a 100% bumiputera company established in early 1994 by a group of experienced and capable individuals in the planning consultancy. The company is leaded by a Professional Town Planners with a working experience of more than forty man-years. The Managing Director, Mr. TPr. Mohd. Asri Bin Husin, has more experience in planning. Cerana Design Associates Sdn Bhd has successfully completed numerous projects includes land conversion application, proposed new town layout design, resort, campus development plans, commercial & industrial parks and others. The company main office is located at No.14A, Jalan Muara 8/9, Seksyen 8, 40000, Shah Alam, Selangor. The company main activities are concentrated in the field of planning services. Cerana Design Associates has successfully completed numerous projects includes land conversion application, proposed new town layout design and others.

3.0.

SUMMARY OF WEEKLY TASKS PERFORMED

This chapter describes the activities I do at Cerana Design Associates firm will be briefly summarized from the first week to the fifteenth week. All daily assignments given to me will be posted in the Industrial Training Daily report book provided by UiTM. During my industrial training, I have been exposed to various new things and I was briefed on how to work in the field of town planning under the supervision of Mr. Muhammad Anuar Bin Jamil.

WORKING HOURS

Students who undergo industrial training in the Cerana Design Associates firm are to adhere to the ethics and regulations of the company, especially during working hours. The industrial training period set by the university is 15 weeks from 3 September 2019 until 13 December 2019. The training time for students is similar to the other staff which is :-

Week : 1 Date : 3 September 2019 – 6 September 2019 Activities : The first week of industrial training in Cerana design Associates begins with self-reporting by submitting forms from the UiTM as confirmation of industry training. Later, I was briefed by the administration Mr. Asri bin Husin on my duties and role throughout the industrial training here That week I was instructed to download planning permission (KM) forms from MBSA website and fill out the form regarding the billboard project at Padang Jawa, Seksyen 16. I have also prepared a development proposal report (LCP) for the purpose of uploading the document to OSC online. Then, I and a few other staff members went on site visits for the billboard installation project. While at the proposed site, I was instructed to take a picture of the site and surrounding area for the purpose of preparing a report

Week : 2 Date : 10 September 2019 – 13 September 2019 Activities : In the second week, I was assigned to development proposal report (LCP) of the petrol station project for Dato' Che Wan Alias. At the same time, I also circulated letters to external technical departments such as JPBD, JPS, JKR, Pejabat Daerah Dan Tanah Gombak to submit their submissions for the petrol station project. For the PTD Gombak I have also provided an image report of the proposal site and certified declaration letter with original stamp of the commissioner of the oath.

Week : 3 Date : 17 September 2019 – 20 September 2019 Activities : In the third week, I took over and handled on a project for the land terms exchange for Mr. Ismail bin Kadir. Accordingly, during the week, I prepared a development proposal report (LCP) and also edited the layout plan for the land term exchange project. At the same time, I went to the PTD Gombak for submissions to pre-consultation for the Dato’ Che Wan petrol station project. Before submitting a document at Land Development Unit, PTD Gombak ,I was told to do a private search (Carian Persendirian) of the proposed site lot to complete the submission. At the same time, I was instructed to do side-by-side work such as making land use classes table, printing and binding Selangor’ku housing policy and set up a document to be uploaded to the OSC online.

Week : 4 Date : 23 September 2019 – 27 September 2019 Activities : At this week, I am writing a circular to the JPBD Selangor and submitting a plan for a land term exchange to patrol station project for Dato’ Che Wan Alias. Later that week, I also submitted an online OSC submission for an industrial project on Senai Johor. At the same time, I was instructed to scan and digitize the layout plan for the new project of two lot land term exchange to Luminous Effect Sdn. Bhd

Week : 5 Date : 30 September 2019 – 4 October 2019 Activities : In the fifth week, I continued my work by producing two development proposal reports (LCP) for the land term exchange project to Luminous Effect Sdn. Bhd. and also a report for mosque construction project in Rawang. I also prepared a company profile report for the purpose of entering a new tender. At the same week, I was instructed by other staff to check out the reviews on OSC online for the industrial project on Senai Johor.

Week : 6 Date : 7 October 2019 – 11 October 2019 Activities : In the sixth week, I started my work by filling out the planning permission form and also filling out the land description form for land term exchange project to Mr. Ismail Kadir. I also prepared an official letter to be circulated to JPBD, JKR, JPS, PTD and also Majlis Perbandaran Klang for the same project. The next day, I submitted the documents to the agencies and departments for the planning permission application.

Week : 7 Date : 14 October 2019 – 18 October 2019 Activities : In the seventh week of my internship here, I was assigned to fill out an land description form for a Luminous Effect Sdn. Bhd. land term exchange project. At the same time, I was in handled of mosque construction project to prepare and fill out ‘Form A planning permission’ and provide a formal letter with layout plan to sign the plan to the client, Jabatan Agama Islam Selangor. In addition, I also did some simple work such as calling MBPJ for a TIA exemption status and also making an image report for first lot land term exchange project to Luminous Effect Sdn. Bhd.

Week : 8 Date : 21 October 2019 – 25 October 2019 Activities : Earlier that week, I submitted a layout plan to JPS Gombak for the Dato 'Che Wan Alias land term exchange patrol station project. Then I prepared a development proposal report (LCP) for agricultural development application in Bertam, Kelantan. In addition, during the week I made two image reports of two lots of land term exchange for Luminous Effect Sdn Bhd and I also created a bunting to promote Kelantan tourism from Cerana Design Associates subsidiary company that Cerana Villa Resort.

Week : 9 Date : 28 October 2019 – 1 November 2019 Activities : In the ninth week, I began my work by reviewing and completing a progress development proposal report (LCP) for agricultural development in Bertam Kelantan based on the information and data I have provided to me. And then fill out a CV form and work experience form for the purpose of applying for a new tender. In addition, during the week I submitted a circular to the JPBD Selangor for the Mr. Ismail Kadir land term exchange project. Besides that, I was told to go to PUSPAKOM Glenmarie to get a project fee payment check and go to the bank to deposit the check.

Week : 10 Date : 4 November 2019 – 8 November 2019 Activities : At the tenth week , I made an amendment of land description form for land term exchange patrol stations projects and should get the gazette number of Malay reserve land for the proposed lot. I also made corrections and amendments development proposal report (LCP) based on comments from the staff at Land Development Unit, PTD Gombak. Then the next day, I resubmitted the document to PTD because the previous submission was incomplete. In addition, the next day I was instructed to go to a client on behalf of the Tong Woh Enterprise Sdn Bhd. to an factory amendment project to provide an invoice for the planning application fee and get a pass plan for the previous project.

Week : 11 Date : 11 November 2019 – 15 November 2019 Activities : Earlier in the week, I with several staff and managing directors Mr. Asri to the DKSH factory for a site visit with a consultancy such as Quantity Surveyor, Architects, IWK and also surveyor for a new factory construction project. At the same time, a meeting was held for all consultants to enter the tender application. Also, during the week, I made a report on the development proposal report (LCP) for the factory amendment project and the next day I went to PTD Petaling to get the Certified True Copy (CTC) for the factory amendment project.

Week : 12 Date : 18 November 2019 – 22 November 2019 Activities : During that week, I filled out a form for the prefectural review at MBSA for the factory amendment project to and made a layout plan with the building's floor space count. Then I made the preparations by preparing a document for the pre-consultation submission of the mosque construction project. And the next day I went to Land Development Unit, PTD Gombak for a pre-consultation, but my submission was rejected because there were several incomplete documents that needed to be modified.

Week : 13 Date : 25 November 2019 – 29 November 2019 Activities : During that week, I was instructed to download the ‘A forms’ and checklists for the proposed proposal at MP Nilai website. Then I wrote a circular to JAIS regarding the request for one copy of the JAIS enactment to complete the documents for the mosque construction project. The next day, I went to the MBSA planner unit and went to the JAIS development unit to submit the circular. In addition, I was directed to go a site visit to the that mosque to take pictures of the proposed site.

Week : 14 Date : 2 December 2019 – 6 December 2019 Activities : In the fourteenth week, I compiled a document into a project file as well as compiling and printing the necessary documents for the meeting. In addition, I am making amendments to the land description form and also making a confession letter for a mosque construction project based on the comments made during the pre-negotiation period. the next day, I went to the commissioner of the oath to get a stamp for a confession letter and then I resubmitted the document to land development unit in PTD Gombak for the mosque construction project.

Week : 15 Date : 9 December 2019 – 13 December 2019 Activities : In my last week of internship here, I went to MP Klang to do a zoning review and asked the method and procedure for a new planning permission application. Then, I did the fee calculation and filled out the planning permission form and uploaded it to OSC Online for the factory amendment project. On my last day there, the managing director had a small dinner and during that time I was given the opportunity to speech a thanks to all the staff for guiding me throughout my industry training there. And at that time, I restore the project files I’ve been handled throughout the internship here to the other staff to continue the project that I was handled.

MAJOR TASK DURING INTERNSHIP.

During my 15 weeks of industrial training, my major task was handled three projects which is :i.
