Learning by teaching others how to learn Coursera Course Final Project I've been a business student for the past year, and if there's one thing about my studies that never changes, it's that it's always changing. There's always something fresh to learn. That's my favorite part. The goal is to learn something new. So when I discovered a course on Coursera called Learning How to Study, I leapt at the chance to learn about learning from academic specialists Dr. Barbara Oakley and Dr. Terrence Sejnowski from the University of California, San Diego. Here are the main takeaways from the training that will help me become a better developer and student in general. When learning, there are times when you must concentrate and times when you must let your mind wander. This diffused, or unfocused, phase is equally as important in helping your brain to LEARN anything as the concentrated mode. So, take pauses, meditate, daydream, and allow yourself enough time in both modes. Following the Pomodoro technique is one approach to ensure that you take frequent breaks. This is when you program for 25 minutes and then take a 5-minute break. The durations of the work and break times may be adjusted to suit your needs. The key thing is that you take a break on a regular basis. There are numerous apps available that will assist you in setting up a Pomodoro timer. I make use of the Pomodoro Time....
