Description

I strongly agree that technology and globalization increase the chance of inequality. Globalization and technology are key forces that drive innovation, productivity and economic growth but behind the rise in inequalities, according to Qureshi Zia (2018). I recall that technological change which includes digitization, the rise of robots, artificial intelligence, etc. tends to favor capital and higher-level skills at the expense of ordinary workers which will result in inequality. Furthermore, technology process is a key driver of improvements in income and standards of living, the new technology does not necessarily develop everywhere and at the same time, as a result of this, inequality is sure in places or even countries that are technologically backward that regions where technology strives and grows set a faster pace. Global markets are inherently dis-equalizing, making rising inequality in developing countries (south center, 2006) in the following ways. tremendous economic gains associated with deeper and more efficient global markets are not equally shared and also markets will reward those who have the right assets such as financial capital, human capital, entrepreneurial skills, in view of the evidence above, it clearly shows that globalization will also lead to inequality. Impacts of Technology and Globalization in my region. Globalization and technology have significantly impact my region (Africa) in many ways but to name a few: We now have many software’s company which have given most youth the opportunity to horn their skills in the field of programming and with many young CEOs of their own organization and this has made many youths to become self-reliant due to globalization between Africa and other countries. Couple with the reason given above, technology has also impacted greatly the area of telecommunication, internet access is now readily available and has provided enough opportunity for people to own establishments that thrive as a result of internet.
