C18H34O2 is an example of oleic acid. . Protein: Proteins are made up of monomers called amino acids. There are 20 amino acids, each with an amino group and a carboxyl-acid group, but with a separate “r” group, and peptide bonds connect them, Cysteine (C3H7NO2S), for example, is important for humans because it plays a key role in protein rigidity and thus aids collagen development, giving the skin its well-deserved elasticity.
