Lasang, Davao City Phiippines 8000 082-236-0452 (local no. 117) 09197270049 ___________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT The study described the linguistic features of Philippine English in Davao City in terms of its morphological, semantic, and syntactic features. In attaining the purpose of describing the linguistic features of Philippine English in Davao City, the structural analysis of qualitative research method was utilized. After obtaining samples from multiple sources of corpora to ascertain trustworthiness of the study, classifying them according to genres such as student composition, print media, virtual communication, billboard ads, and office communication, and analyzing them with thick description of their features, the findings revealed that the development of Philippine English in Davao City was brought about by the influence of dominant dialect i.e. Visayan language. The findings, moreover, show that the morphological features of this English variety were prominently developed by affixation, clipping, reduplication and acronymy; that its semantic features, variated by locals' social status, regional origin, and context; and, that its syntactic features, modified by run-ons, verb-tense inconsistency, and wordiness. In end, due to the dominant influence of local language in Davao City, a new variety of Philippine English has emerged, and it is identified as localized Philippine English in Davao.
