Description

LOCUS OF DECISION MAKING A decision-making process is a series of steps taken by individuals to determine the best option or course of action for dealing with problems or obtaining what their company requires. Making effective decisions as a manager is a huge challenge in today's fast-paced world. Business decisions should ideally be based on objective facts, which can be aided by the use of business intelligence and analytic tools. However, in order to make effective decisions, a person must be able to predict the outcome of each option as well as determine which option is best for that particular situation based on all of these factors. It is one of the most crucial qualities or abilities for a manager. Good decisions can make a huge difference in our organization's success. Good decision-making can also assist you in better understanding what information you will require and how to best use it to inform your decisions, allowing you to solve problems more quickly. Programmed and non-programmed decision-making are the two types of decision-making. We make programmed decisions as part of our daily routines, and we can anticipate the problems that will arise in the company. Especially for businesses with systems that follow a set of rules. By following the company's procedures, employees will be able to quickly resolve any issues that arise. As a result, the company will continue to grow because all of the problems that arise are easily solved. The manager can also learn a great deal of important and useful information that can be used to solve future problems. A non-programmed routine is an unstructured routine that occurs when a company faces unique or special problems that necessitate a quick and systematic solution. Unusual problems can have a negative impact on our business if they are not resolved quickly. For example, if an employee takes company money without permission, the financial system of the company will suffer financial losses. It may also have an impact on other employers because the company is unable to pay their salaries. As a result, the company's manager must take serious action against the thief and choose the best option for dealing with the company's problems. Aside from that, establishing objectives, policies, and procedures can help to simplify the decision-making process. Seafood Resto, on the other hand, is a fantastic seafood restaurant in Selangor. Miss Aleisha, our restaurant's manager, has a diploma, a bachelor's degree, and a master's degree in business administration. She has participated in numerous co-curricular activities and is the

director of each programme. She had also managed a number of programmes put on by her college. She participated in programmes that provided her with extreme and spectacular experience, allowing her to open the best seafood restaurant in Selangor. The experiences she has had have provided her with a wealth of useful information, particularly in the area of decision-making. She applied her knowledge to solve the business problem by making the best decision, option, and action she could. As a result, she was ranked as one of the best managers in Malaysia. She made her decision based on her college experience and practical work experience. However, there are some issues in the seafood restaurant that our manager must address. Stock shortages were also among the issues that had not yet been encountered since the seafood restaurant opened. However, after a few days, the Seafood Resto employees were overjoyed because there were no longer any stock shortages. This is because Miss Aleisha made the correct decision in hiring a new seafood supplier who was responsible and consistent in his work. This option is the most suitable solution to the company's problems. It also makes it easier for the chef at the seafood restaurant to prepare the food that customers have requested. Not only was there a lack of stocks, but there was also a lack of space in the kitchen to store some ingredients like salt, sugar, seasoning powder, and other spices. This issue will have an impact on the chef's ability to prepare food for customers. Food preparation will also be slow due to the chef's lack of cooking space. To avoid customer complaints, the manager has decided to purchase new kitchen equipment such as box storage, steel racks, and other items. Because it had four wheels, the steel rack was fordable and movable, allowing it to be easily carried and placed anywhere in the kitchen. ADVANTAGES Increase people information

ADVANTAGES Increase People’s Participation The organization's decision-making is carried out by a group of people who work there. It is carried out by a group of people rather than a single person. Every individual actively participates in the organization's decision-making process. They are unrestricted in their presentation of creative ideas. Furthermore, none of them is singled out for blame for any failure; rather, the entire group is held accountable. This raises the level of participation among various members of the organisation.

Provide More Alternatives Through group decision-making, businesses can obtain a variety of options for a given situation. A group of people are working together to make the proper decisions. Each person approaches a problem in a unique way. They each present their own viewpoints and ideas on the subject. This way, you can choose from a variety of options. All of the options are thoroughly examined in light of the handling situation. To achieve a better result, the best one is chosen.

Improves The Quality Of Decisions Making good decisions at the right time is aided by decision-making. Organizations use a variety of experts in their decision-making process. These people have achieved this through their knowledge and inventiveness. They examine every aspect of every option available to them for dealing with situations. The best option is chosen from among the various options available. It allows for better decision-making, which aids in the achievement of goals.

DISADVANTAGES Costly The first and most significant disadvantage of decision-making is that it is prohibitively expensive to carry out. Different people are involved in decision-making in organisations in order to take appropriate action. Bringing different people together in one place necessitates a significant amount of effort. Furthermore, analysing the various perspectives offered by

members of a group is too difficult. It all takes a lot of money to collect information from different people in a systematic way.

Time-Consuming Decisions are useless if they are not made in a timely manner. Making a decision entails a series of steps that must be followed in order to reach a specific conclusion. Different people are involved in the decision-making process. Planning, organising, and coordinating various people to meet and have quality discussions takes time and effort. All of this will take time and may cause a delay in taking appropriate action.

Individual Domination Another disadvantage of an organization's decision-making process is this. In a group formed for decision-making, it's possible that not all members are treated equally. A few people may try to exert total control over the situation and may dominate entire meetings. People have different levels of knowledge and experience when it comes to dealing with difficult situations. This allows some people to have total control over a group while demoralising others....
