Cite 2 major historical events that paved the way for the various evolutionary processes in society. In your opinion, how different would society be at present if these events did not take place?

One major historical event that paved the way to the various evolutionary processes in the Philippine society is when the Philippine Senate rejected the US bases. The closing of the biggest US military base outside the US and the withdrawal of its navy had a profound direct impact on China. China became bolder in the open sea in the absence of a counter-weight and because its naval forces started to favor the strategy of "near-seas" rather than "near-coast" defense in the 1980s. Another historical event that really changed society would be the Philippien-American war since it helped dissuade the Americans from expanding further across asia. If these events didn’t happen in the first place, I think there would be strains in the relationship between the Philippines and the countries mentioned. There would still be a possible war in the near future....
