MALEFICENT 1. Similarities Both shows their wickedness and deep hatred to the king and his family. On terms of appearance, both versions of Maleficent are dressed in black costumes and have two big horns on their heads and carry a magical staff with a crow, which is their loyal servant, landing on it. Both came to Princess Aurora's birthday ceremony and places a curse on her that she will die on her 16th birthday after pricking her finger on a spinning wheel's spindle. They both use their magic to build a huge wall of throne around the castle.

Differences The new version shows Maleficent's origin story; the version in 1959 let Maleficent appear from nowhere. The latest Maleficent has strong wings; the old Maleficent does not. The old Maleficent puts sleep curse on Aurora because she did not get a proper invitation; yet Maleficent in new version became cruel for her wings were hacked off by Aurora's father => the new has more complicated reason. Disney's Maleficent is heartless; Maleficent by Jolie later becomes a caring godmother of the little princess. Two version of Maleficent are completely different in that the new Maleficent wants to take off the curse when she realize her affection for Aurora. She eventually breaks it with a kiss of true love.

Princess aurora Similarities Appearance: long, blond, wavy hair, beautiful and graceful. Personality: innocent, kind - hearted, like playing in the forest, befriend with wild animals, curious. Both was cursed by maleficent, taken to the jungle to hide and brought up by 3 fairies, but still fall asleep as an effect of the curse. Differences The old one has a bang, but the new one doesn't. one considers Maleficent her fairy godmother, loves her and wants to live with her; she becomes familiar with the Moors-Maleficent's country. The old one dreams about meeting a tall, handsome, romantic prince; sings and dances with the prince at the first time they meet. The new one's has no dreams about the prince, and only talks with the prince when they first met.

In the end, the old one is awaken by prince Phillip's kiss. The new one is awaken by Maleficent's kiss, then becomes the queen of the Moors and the Human kingdom....
