How can consumers affect marketing strategies? Marketing strategies are tailored to their type of target market so changes in the consumer’s behavior can affect marketing strategies. For example:  Social/Cultural Influences – The Well-Worn marketing campaign can be influenced by the multi-culturalism of Canada. If there will be Muslim immigrants in the country, how can they introduce their Well-Worn campaign to Muslims in the country.  Personal Influences-The change in the dominant age group among consumers greatly affect the focus of the marketing campaign.

Take for example Mark’s shoe products Purchase decision process: 1. Identifying the need (e.g. Current shoes wore-out) 2. Gathering information or researching (e.g. asking friends where to buy it and what brand; browsing internet for preferences) 3. Comparing or evaluating product/service options gathered (e.g. comparing prices and quality online reviews) 4. Purchase Decision (e.g. Choosing the product that has the highest quality with reasonable price) 5. Post-purchase evaluation (Observations on the use of product purchased)

What influences might impact a consumer’s purchase decision?      

The purpose of buying the product (e.g. if it will be used for work, for school or for snow) Budget for the purchase Location of home (e.g. If you are living in the coldest places in Canada, you will truly need to buy boots that will truly keep you warm regardless of price) Lifestyle (e.g. If you are a fashion conscious, you will choose shoes that will match your frequent outfits) Personality (e.g. If you can be easily influenced by the comments of others, you will buy what other people said that is a great product) Promotion (e.g. Consumers can be easily attracted to buy products on sale)...
